Leaf’s clients purchased a brown field site in front of a grade II listed church in a Northamptonshire village which previously had consent for a traditional cottage dwelling. The clients ambition is build a house that is attractive, contemporary, functional and sustainable within the village they currently live. The design complies fully with the requirements for Building for Life 12 and exceeds the current building regulations signifcantly by incorporating solar slates, solar orientated fabric first approach and rainwater harvesting etc… whilst promoting the bio-diversity on site with a wildflower meadow rear garden. Leaf Architecture had encouraging pre-application support from the local authority. Both client and ourselves will be watching this application with interest…
