Leaf Architecture secured planning permission for a really interesting single storey extension where the goal was to optimise views and light and in doing so we worked with PRP Consulting Engineers to design a framed solution to almost make support steelwork disappear and enforces the thin glazed elevation as the dominant single feature. The simple pitched roof has been twisted over the plan to create both practical solar shading to two critical elevations but also creates a dramatic sense of the volume internally.
