“We engaged Leaf Architecture following a conversation with someone who had a contemporary kitchen extension designed for them! My husband and I have a construction company plus experience in property development so feel we have a good understanding of the design and build process but wanted to be challenged in our thinking and to achieve an altogether higher level of home. Richard from Leaf has not only challenged our thinking but skilfully handled any differences in opinion and dogmatic decisions. To start we were determined to remodel our 1950’s bungalow – Richard was able to present a well thought through (design and economic) case for demolishing our existing house which we very quickly bought into and our relationship has gone from strength to strength. Leaf spend the time not only listening to our wish list but taking the time to understand our behaviour in every other area (i.e.: work / home / family / leisure etc) and perhaps most importantly our surroundings & environment. The result being the design of a unique and AMAZING contemporary home that makes the very most of our surroundings, fulfils our desire for something out of the norm and unique to us and perhaps most importantly gives us the flexibility to use the space in whatever way we need as we intend to spend the next 50 years+ here.
We are moving towards the end of the design journey having gained full planning permission without a hitch! Throughout the design process Leaf have proactively suggested materials, Richard is extremely respectful of our choices working closely with us to evolve them to something that both fits our brief and make the most of the design. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Leaf – we look forward to continuing this close working relationship as we finalise material choice and start the build.
