Leaf Architecture was approached by this client who became disenchanted and uninspired by designs by previous agents and said they felt ‘excited again’ by the prospect of designing their house with Leaf and with such a wonderful client, brief and plot we thoroughly enjoyed working with this client through initial designs, passing through planning without any issues and following a period of intense design detailing and material choices due to start on site in March 2021. The basic concept for the house was focused around 3 pitched roof volumes containing principle night spaces, ancillary block and principle reception spaces all linked via a flowing sedum green roof. The building whilst clearly modern takes reference from the local traditional gabled styles with ironstone but also complimenting with contrasting black zinc and clay tiling.
