Another new build contemporary house design by Leaf Architecture and completed in the last few years and after allowing the landscape to mature was pleased to have the opportunity to have photographs taken recently. The family already owned an existing house where this property was essentially designed in part of the former gardens in the village of Loddington. The brief was to design a family house which was orientated to the sites shape but also to provide privacy and maximise light through the dwelling. The basic form was two gabled blocked with a dramatic circulation hallway with front to rear glazing with the LHS block cranked forming a large ‘L’ shaped family day space and 3 bedrooms above, the master suite being to one side. The client managed the build and procured a very generous, modern family house with triple glazing, PV panels and electric air source heat pumps plus thermally efficient timber fabric.
