Leaf Architecture was approached by Harborough Evangelical Church to refresh and enliven the public face of the building which suffered from a bland architectural elevation but also improve the entrance, circulation and provide a new coffee shop and external landscaped courtyard. Leaf worked closely with one of the church senior members to understand the complex operational issues community building such as this have including of the multitude of user groups, user timetables and internal circulation routes and conflicts to create a newly repositioned glazed entrance to the frontage with a new buttress wall to visually breakup the line of the hipped roof coupled with localised render to the corner, this gave the building a dramatic modern face at minimal expense.
