Leaf Architecture has been working closely with the owners of two barns which sit alongside their current farm property which whilst historically having permission for both a demolition for a new dwelling and more recently conversion to a dwelling, has transpired not practically being capable for conversion. We have been appointed to assess the suitability of rebuilding the barn ‘like for like’ and its impact on the adjacent listed buildings which at pre-application the local authority seem to support. The new self build/custom dwelling is much more in keeping than previous schemes utilising a pallet of materials and styles to compliment the barns and surrounding vernacular and having worked closely with the owners more aligned with their needs too whilst also optimising the approach to the site as a whole.
