Planning Submitted for Remodelling & Renovation of Arts & Craft House…

We secured a wonderful commission last year to help the new owners of this ‘arts and crafts’ inspired house in a sort after village in Leicestershire which was in need of renovation and remodelling. Whilst the property is considered a ‘non-designated heritage asset’ it’s considered contemporary by date and in a style reflecting the arts and craft period which both owners and architect wish to retain. Our brief was to remove a dated and defective garage block and design both new garage provision, new accommodation above as ell as new single story family days spaces across the rear. The resulting design has support from the local planning authority in principle following extensive pre-application discussions and create a design where the original house remains unaffected with new sympathetic and subservient elements within a remastered landscape by Second Nature Gardens creating more usable driveway, softer frontage as well as formal rear terraces and lawns…
