Having visited and monitored this new build project during the course of the construction phase on this challenging and tight site in Uppingham, we are pleased to see this now completed with the last of the landscaping being installed over the next few weeks. The site was previous a builders yard and undertakers and sits adjacent the conservation area of Uppingham off the High Street and was conceived as an L-shaped footprint to create a private inner courtyard garden where the building was strongly influenced by the industrial buildings previously on the site but also the surrounding vernacular material pallet so the builders (Sandhurst Builders Ltd, under the watchful eye of Adam Weafer) used a beautiful mix of local ironstone, oak cladding with traditional detailing, clay tiles and salvaged slates plus metal crittall style windows, we look forward to visiting next moth and arranging professional photos soon.
