Our client is a family with young children who wish to create a modern, sustainable and bright family home within Great Bowden village, the brief was to work with the site and existing structure which was a 1970’s property on a good sized plot. We retained and preserved the gable fronted form of the house enforcing it in render but interpreted the existing 1970’s flat garage roof and elevated it to form new first floor accommodation which wrapped around the side and to the rear. Despite some local opposition the application was recommended for approval and at committee it was overwhelmingly supported. We look forward to developing the construction details with the client soon.
