Last year, we secured a substantial commission to assist the new owners of a charming “arts and crafts”- inspired house nestled in a picturesque village in Leicestershire. The property, while not designated as a “non-designated heritage asset,” is considered contemporary by date and exudes a style that aligns with the arts and crafts period, which both owners and the architect aspire to preserve.

Our primary objective was to demolish a dated and structurally deficient garage block and design both new garage facilities and new accommodation units located above the garage. Additionally, we envisioned creating new single-story family days spaces across the rear of the property.

This design retains the original house’s essence while incorporating new, harmonious, and subservient elements within a remastered landscape. The project was undertaken by Second Nature Gardens, which has transformed the property into a more usable driveway, enhanced the frontage, and created formal rear terraces and lawns.
